They are a vegetable preserves brand committed to environmental sustainability and social justice.
In their workshop they make vegetable pates, jams and sauces with local fruits and vegetables discarded from the commercial circuit due to being imperfect (different shapes or sizes, stains, marks or being too ripe), due to price drops (when the market price falls below production and harvesting costs, forcing producers to leave the harvest in the field), or due to production surpluses.
At es im-perfect® they reinvent them and give them new value through a sustainable model based on the principles of the circular economy.
A project by the Espigoladors Foundation
Es im-perfect® is the employment and food transformation company of the Espigoladors Foundation, a non-profit organization that acts on three social needs through an innovative and empowering model: fighting for food use, guaranteeing the right to healthy and sustainable food for the entire population and creating job opportunities for groups at risk of social exclusion.
In 2018, they inaugurated the es im-perfect® brand workshop in the Sant Cosme del Prat de Llobregat neighborhood. Thus, a few kilometers from the Baix Llobregat Agricultural Park -known as “the pantry of the metropolitan region of Barcelona”-, a space for socio-labor insertion and innovation for food use was born that consolidated the circular model of Espigoladors.
